Very unusual transparent glass plate signed G. Argy Rousseau. The plate is decorated with fish swimming in water. The polychrome enameled orange and gray fish are painted on the underside of the plate and undulating silver lines are painted on the top of the plate. The bright silver lines on the top of the plate simulate waves in the water. When viewed from the back of the plate the fish have a three dimensional look and the signature G. Argy Rousseau is visible on the back of one of the waves. Art Deco circa 1920-1930..

The fish pattern is shown in the: Catalog Raisonné G. Argy-Rousseau by Janine BLOCH-DERMANT - page 96.

Size: 8" diameter

Condition: wear to silver lines on front of plate - see pics
