Spectacular and impressive antique Victorian glass vase. This beauty features a yellow to white satin glass finish decorated with an elaborate Coralene beaded arrangement of flowers and leaves. The back of the vase has a small floral spray with Coraline.
Coralene was a Victorian decorating technique used on fine glass. First the pattern was painted on the glass using a thick enamel. Then tiny glass beads were pressed into the paint. The glass was then reheated melting the enamel and permanently afixing the beads to the glass. Coralene is seldom seen on this large a scale. Probably British Glass by Thos. Webb & Sons, circa late 1800's.
